In recent years, the construction scale of photovoltaic power stations in the Philippines has continued to expand, and pile foundation construction is a key part of it. Due to the large differences in island geological conditions across the Philippines, selecting suitable construction equipment directly affects project progress and costs. YG Machinery has sold the solar pile driver to Iloilo Province and Negros Province in the Philippines. Below are two practical application cases for your reference.【WhatsApp/WeChat/Phone】+86 13837122632

Case 1: YG Solar Pile Drive Supports Hard Rock Stratum Construction in Iloilo Province
Customer Background: A photovoltaic project contractor in Iloilo Province undertook the pile foundation work for a 50MW power station, needing to complete drilling for about 3,000 photovoltaic support piles.
Construction Challenges: A tuff layer with a thickness of 2 to 3 meters lies about 1.5 meters below the ground surface of the construction site.
YG Solution: We recommended the YG-6D solar pile driver machine. This model is equipped with both auger drilling and DTH drilling modes, capable of handling rocks with a hardness of 6-20F, making it ideal for geological conditions with rock layers.
Case Process: The customer contacted YG by searching for solar pile driver for sale on Google. After several video communications, YG technicians recommended YG-6D based on the geological report provided by the customer, and remotely demonstrated the drilling performance under similar working conditions. The customer first ordered one unit for trial use, and YG arranged engineers to assist with on-site commissioning. The test piling results showed that the equipment could stably penetrate the tuff layer, and the verticality of drilled holes met design requirements. The customer then placed a repeat order for a second unit.
Application Effects
- Drilling Capacity: Two YG-6D units achieve an average drilling speed of 15-20 centimeters per minute in tuff strata. A single hole takes about 3-4 minutes to finish, with a total daily drilling output of 160-200 holes under normal working conditions.
- Hole Quality: The on-site sampling test shows the verticality deviation of drilled holes is within 2 cm per meter, fully meeting the installation requirements of photovoltaic supports.
- Equipment Stability: There was no construction shutdown caused by equipment failure during one and a half months of continuous operation. Normal wear of the DTH drill impactor is consistent with the replacement cycle data provided by YG.
- Construction Schedule Control: The drilling work for 3,000 piles was completed within 6 weeks, in line with the customer’s original plan, with no extra delays caused by equipment issues.
Customer Feedback: “The YG-6D can adapt to the local rock stratum conditions. It is easy to operate, and the after-sales service response is timely.”

Case 2: YG Solar Pile Drive Supports Sandy Soil Stratum Construction in Negros Province
Customer Background: A local construction enterprise in Negros Province took on its first photovoltaic power station pile foundation project. Lacking experience with photovoltaic pile driver, they sought easy-to-operate and cost-effective equipment.
Construction Challenges: The project site is mainly composed of sandy soil and gravel soil with relatively simple geological conditions. However, the construction schedule is tight, requiring the completion of about 1,000 piles within six weeks. Traditional manual piling is extremely inefficient and cannot meet the progress demand.
YG Solution: The YG-6M hydraulic hammer photovoltaic pile driver was recommended. With an impact frequency of 350-800bmp, this model is suitable for precast pile construction in sandy and gravel soil layers, and simpler to operate than auger drilling rigs.
Case Process: The customer learned about YG Machinery through peer referrals. During communication, the customer focused most on equipment stability and operation difficulty. YG’s sales team provided equipment operation videos and feedback from existing customers. After two weeks of communication and price comparison, the customer finally purchased one YG-6M unit.
Application Effects
- Piling Efficiency: In sandy soil, the average driving time for a single pile is 20-30 seconds; in gravel soil, it extends to 40-60 seconds. One single machine can finish 120-150 piles per day.
- Operation & Learning: Operators can independently complete piling work after two days of on-site training. No professional technicians are needed, effectively reducing labor costs.
- Equipment Maintenance: Within one month of use, the hydraulic hammer runs normally without oil leakage or reduced impact force. Daily maintenance only includes checking hydraulic oil level and track tension, which is simple to handle.
- Schedule Achievement: All 1,000 piles were finished in 5 weeks, one week ahead of schedule, allowing the next construction process to start before the rainy season.
Customer Feedback: “This solar pile driver is easy to get started with and simple to maintain. It is a practical choice for our company undertaking a photovoltaic project for the first time.”

How to Choose the Right Solar Pile Driver Machine
There is no fixed standard for selecting a suitable photovoltaic pile driver. The core is to match equipment according to actual project conditions. First, geological conditions are the primary reference: For projects dominated by soft soil and sandy soil, vibration hammer type equipment is the best choice with low cost and simple operation. For sites with pebble layers or weathered rock, high-torque auger pile drivers are required. If there is a hard rock layer over 1 meter thick underground, models with DTH drilling function are a must for smooth drilling.
Second, project scale and construction period determine equipment quantity and configuration. Small projects with several hundred piles can choose mini hydraulic machines, while large-scale power stations with thousands of piles are recommended to adopt crawler equipment with GPS auxiliary positioning for higher efficiency.
Third, check key parameters to ensure the piling/drilling depth, diameter range, engine power, torque and climbing angle match the on-site environment.
Fourth, total cost includes not only the product price, but also sea freight, import tariffs, insurance, daily fuel consumption and replacement costs of spare parts.
Lastly, operation, maintenance and after-sales support are often overlooked. Prioritize models with user-friendly operation interfaces, and require manufacturers to provide on-site training and a list of common wearing parts.
In short: conduct site survey first, select proper equipment second, and carry out test piling finally. This is the most effective way to avoid construction delays.
