In places like mines, coal yards, steel mills, and landfill sites, dust pollution not only harms the surrounding environment but also threatens workers’ health and equipment life. Traditional water trucks have limited coverage, and manual spraying is inefficient. But the dust cannon makes large-area dust control simple and effective – it uses a high-pressure pump to turn water into fine mist, which is then blown by a fan over distances of tens of meters, forming an even mist layer. The mist fully combines with airborne dust particles and makes them settle, achieving precise dust suppression. YG Machinery offers 4 models of dust suppression cannons, with spraying distances from 20 to 60 meters, to meet different dust control needs.

5 Key Advantages of YG Dust Suppression Fog Cannon
- Long-range coverage: Spraying distance from 20m to 60m – one machine can cover thousands of square meters, much more efficient than traditional water trucks.
- 360° omnidirectional spraying: 360° horizontal rotation and -10° to 55° vertical tilt allow full-angle coverage to suit different dust sources at various heights and angles.
- Remote control: Equipped with a control box and remote controller – operators can work from a safe distance, away from dusty environments.
- Excellent atomization: The high-pressure pump turns water into fine mist, which fully combines with dust particles for settling – dust suppression efficiency can reach over 90%.
- Multi-purpose use: Besides dust control, it can also be used for garden pesticide spraying, landfill disinfection and deodorization, post-disaster epidemic prevention, and more – one machine, many uses.

How Water Cannon Dust Suppression Works
The core principle of water cannon dust suppression is “high-pressure atomization + fan blowing”. A high-pressure plunger pump pushes water into small stainless steel nozzles. Inside the nozzles, the high-pressure water hits an obstacle and breaks into many tiny droplets, forming a mist curtain. At the same time, a powerful fan blows the atomized mist over long distances to cover the target dust area. When the mist contacts airborne dust, the droplets wrap around the dust, make it heavier, and finally it falls to the ground – achieving dust suppression. Compared with direct water spraying, atomization uses less water, covers a larger area, and gives more even results.
Typical Applications of Dust Cannon
Mine dust control
- Open-pit mining areas: cover the working face to suppress dust from blasting and mechanical operations.
- Crushing and screening stations: spot-spray crushers, vibrating screens, and other dust-producing equipment to prevent dust spread.
- Haul roads: arrange along both sides of mine roads to control dust raised by transport vehicles.
Coal yards and ports
- Coal stockpiles: spray large areas of open coal piles with mist to prevent wind-blown dust.
- Loading and transfer points: cover belt conveyor transfer stations, loading points, and other high-dust areas.
- Ports and terminals: suppress dust from coal and ore loading/unloading to protect the surrounding environment.
Steel mills and stone processing plants
- Steelmaking workshops: cover blast furnaces, converters, and other dusty areas to improve workshop air quality.
- Stone crushing lines: spot-suppress dust from jaw crushers, impact crushers, vibrating screens, etc.
- Conveyor belts: arrange along conveyor corridors to control dust at transfer and drop points.
Landfill sites
- Waste dumping areas: spray disinfectants and deodorants over large areas to control odors and germs.
- Compaction zones: reduce dust and flying debris during waste compaction.
- Post-disaster epidemic prevention: after natural disasters, disinfect, deodorize, and sterilize large areas.
Municipal sanitation
- City roads: control dust from road construction and vehicle traffic to improve air quality.
- Construction sites: spray inside fences to prevent dust from affecting nearby residents.
- City beautification: assist environmental authorities in dust pollution control and compliance.
Agriculture and forestry spraying
- Garden care: spray pesticides over large areas – no modification needed, ready to use.
- Forest epidemic prevention: control forest pests and diseases with long-range spraying to cover tall tree canopies.
- Farm operations: apply pesticides to large crop areas efficiently and evenly.

Frequently Asked Questions about Dust Cannon
Q1: Can the dust suppression cannon spray disinfectant or corrosive liquids?
Yes. You need to change to a ceramic pump. If the liquid contains chlorine, change to a stainless steel pump. If the material itself is corrosive, we offer a full stainless steel dust cannon.
Q2: How large an area can the equipment cover?
Take YG-60 as an example – spraying distance 60m, with 360° rotation coverage, one unit can cover a circular area with a radius of 60m, about 11,000 square meters.
Q3: Do I need a generator set?
All four models are electric-driven and need a 380V three-phase power supply. If there is no power on site, you can add a diesel generator set as an option.
Q4: Can the water flow rate be adjusted?
Yes. Turn the pump knob – clockwise increases pressure and flow; counter-clockwise decreases pressure and flow.
Q5: Is maintenance complicated?
The YG dust suppression fog cannon has a simple structure. Daily maintenance mainly involves cleaning nozzles and checking the pump and fan. The stand is galvanized steel pipe for corrosion resistance, and the air duct cover is cold-rolled steel plate – very durable.
